Commonsenserocks is an ongoing conversation to talk about the 'knowing' we were born with of a good life. A life of harmony, abundance, joy, and pure Love. You know... the Life you always knew you were supposed to have! The Life that really works for all of us, A life of co-operation, where we work together to bring about a more harmonious world.
It starts with us together re-membering (becoming a member once again of the human family). What is it that we all share? Let's talk about that. A safe place to see what we have in common. This conversation should be going on everywhere, all the time. Not a special event, just a friendly conversation about the things that really matter. A place to pause in your day, hear others talking about common sense, maybe join in, or just listen... and re-connect to the human family. No arguing, no agendas, no lectures, just human beings talking about being human.. Maybe share what works for you. Simple.
Everyone walks their own path, hopefully learning as we go... what is it that works for you... maybe it's your particular faith, a practice you use, yoga, or meditation, whatever it is, share it with others. It's in the sharing that everyone benefits. You may know it by a different name than others, but what is the underlying truth? Maybe it's 'ask and you shall receive', or 'pause when agitated' or just practicing gratitude. Let's see if we can find the similarities and let go of the differences.
What's been missing in our world is the conversation. Sure it's easy to share with 'your people'. How about instead of arguing our point of view, we just look for the underlying truth of Life underneath the names we give our practices. Creation established this world to operate from principles... basic truths that are consistent and do not fail, ie: gravity. Let's identify these truths together from our own beliefs and practices and finally get on with this business of Living together in harmony rather than conflict.
Where would this meeting take place? Anywhere you see the commonsenserocks logo... really, wherever you are, you can start your own.... just put out the logo. Why a logo? So wherever you are in the world, you see the logo and you can know that people are having a conversation about life that matters. There are guidelines so it doesn't turn into an argument or debate. Just follow the guidelines, pick a topic.... you can open a meeting anywhere, for as little or as long as you want.... at the beach, a park, or online. Life needs your cooperation.
Just copy and paste the logo and format and start your own meeting! Or contact me for more info.

The outer circle is our physical world represented by the five senses.
The guidelines for the conversation are around the heart.
What we have in common is inside the heart… our Common Sense.
Common Sense Rocks Format
Opening:
Invite participants to just sit and take a few breaths. Let go of any thoughts or concerns and just come into the present moment.
What’s This About:
Underneath our thoughts there is a knowing… we may have “learned or been taught” not to listen to that knowing, but it is there… it is called common sense. (Just because we haven’t been using it, doesn’t mean it’s not there).
Life is simple:
Creation established a set of principles, the way Life operates in this space and time. When we cooperate with these truths, they empower us to express more Life, through us, and as us, and when we don’t cooperate we experience some form of pain, physical, mental, or emotional.
As we come into harmony with Life, we help to create an atmosphere of unity enabling each individual to be the unique expression of Life that Creation intended them to be. What lies underneath all of the great teachings are the essential principles of Life itself. Rather than contend with each other as to which is the ‘right’ one, why not share what our individual experience is of simply what works? Our common sense!
We have modified and adopted these guidelines from www.conversationcafe.org:
1. Open-mindedness: Listen to & respect all points of view
2. Acceptance: Suspend judgement as best you can
3. Curiousity: Consider ‘what if’ possibilities
4. Discovery: Question assumptions & look for new incites
5. Sincerity: Speak from your heart & personal experience
6. Brevity: Go for honesty & depth, don’t go on and on
Suggestions for Leader:
Picks a topic or invites people to share what they have in common. We are looking for what works from our own experiences... how we co-operate with life.
